Guttenberg Hasn’t Left ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Set Yet.

“It’s OK,” Steve “the Goot” Guttenberg told the “Dancing with the Stars” audience after getting the hook in October 2007. “I’ve made so many good friends, I really hate to leave.”

And he wasn’t kidding. The Goot has been sleeping in vacated dressing rooms and munching on rehearsal buffets at ABC studios for the last fourteen months. Last Friday the producers took action and called in security guards to physically remove him from the premises.

Guttenberg, who starred in such pictures as Police Academy, Police Academy 2, Police Academy 3, and Police Academy 4 was elated to be asked on the show in 2007. However, by the fourth week, he was voted off.

Prior to receiving an invitation to compete on the show, the Goot was fighting a year-long battle with depression, realizing that neither Single Santa Meets Mrs. Claus (2004) or Meet the Santas (2005) -- he played the role of “Nick” in both films – would have the holiday impact of “The Grinch” or “A Christmas Carol”. So after joining “Dancing”, the Goot immersed himself into learning the Tango and Paso Doblé moves that could launch a potential second career in the world of dance. Unfortunately, an abject lack of talent led to an early exit on the program.

However, the Goot expressed no sorrow in losing; in fact, his demeanor remained so rosy that the judges apologized for their negative, but fully justified, criticism.

“E’s a great bloke!” said Len Goodman, one of the judges. “Bit of a shame ‘e couldn’t cut the bangers and mash, eh Guvner?”

But the Goot is not washed up, like everybody thinks. He has come to terms with his Santa trauma, and has even volunteered to star as Nick again, if anyone wants to make another Christmas special.

No replies as yet.

Breaking news. . . Goot Gets The Boot - In the Head (Reuters November 17, 2008) Steve Guttenberg sees "Stars" after being the unwilling recipient of Lance Bass' dancing shoe tonight. "Goot", as he is affectionately known by no one, snuck back in the ABC Studios Monday night after restraining orders had been issued by the producers of Dancing With the Stars. Sitting next to Grandpa Bass, supposedly disguised in sunglasses, a white beard and a red suit, Goot, quite literally, got the boot, when during the high voltage jitter bug dance performance, the young Bass' shoe flew off his foot and hit the where-are-they-now actor square in the forehead.

Goot, who waited approximately 20 minutes for anyone to notice, told reporters he was doing fine and would not press charges in lieu of a 3 minute interview on the network's Entertainment Tonight.

And, although, Shoeless Lance received record high scores with the jitterbug, he had to fight off taunts that he truly was "light in the loafers".

Mr. Jeffries,

I formally request that you include "Tower of Terror" in your brief Goot filmography, as this is the movie that introduced him to a whole new generation of Americans wondering, "where's that guy now-a-days?"

Thank you,
A Concerned "Fan"

p.s. On a devastating side note, the magnificent piece of filmmaking is not even the wikipedia page that comes up when searching "tower of terror." what sort of world do we live in??

Dear Concerned:

I apologize for not having referenced this classic TV film in the article -- Disney was cashing in on other "ride" movies at the time: e.g., Pirates of the Carribean and Haunted Mansion. Although this film was not financially successful, (Goot played "Buzzy Crocker") -- Disney intends to move forward with its next entry in the genre, call "Tilt a Whirl". Goot is espected to play the vomit.

And if you ask me, Goot has wsy too many "(TV)" entries on his IMDB page to be considered a celebrity.
